Diesel for .49 cents...NOT Bio-Diesel??????????????????

I have been trying to find ways to save money on diesel cost. One site I found was dieselsecret.com. They claim to have a product similar to Bio-Diesel, but much easier to make and no coversion kit to buy. Basically, my question is does this stuff work? Has anyone done this. It sure makes perfect sense...but with everything there must be a downside. Would appreciate any input on the product. Sounds like something worth checking out.
Thanks

RE: RV Wholesalers vs the local guy

I took looked hard at the online wholesellers. I eventually bought my unit local. I don't think you can go wrong with buying a unit from a distance, but I really wanted the local service I would get from my dealer. I did pay a little more, but they did price match...you just have to work them a little harder.
I'm glad that I chose to go local b/c I have already had my unit back in for some work...very easy with my local dealer and not so easy with national wholesellers. That would be my 2 cents worth...try to work local, but if that is not an option or you have been treated unfairly, send your business else where.
Good Luck...;)

Whining Noise?????????????????

I have a 2008 Duramax and I just got a new 5th Wheel trailer. Trailer weighs about 13,000 loaded and it is within my towing specs. The last couple of times I have pulled it over a mountain near my house, my engine or turbo makes a high pitched whining noise. It sounds to be directly associated with RPM's. When I let off the pedal the noise goes down and visa versa.
It happens either when I've been pulling for awhile or just starting the trip, but only when pulling up a hill. Once I let up on the pedal and tried to slow down and the noise went away eventually...
I'm thinking it has something to do with the turbo or exhaust gas temp? Any ideas? I am no mechanic so any help would be great.
Thanks

RE: Superglide Questions

I actually talked with my dealer today and he mentioned that for some reason the newer trailers are coming with a little different pinbox set up. I doesn't know why they changed, but he has heard of a couple of problems...including mine...just recently of this happening. It only appears that this problem is with the new trailers. I'm bringing it down this week. He mentioned two different options.
1. Try and raise the pinbox up to the next set of holes...that should give me another 1 inch.
2. Cut the back of the pinbox off (the part that is actually hitting the bedrails?
We'll see what happens and I will update this post.

RE: Superglide Questions

Yes...I don't that the Pullright Superglide has a height adjustment, but I can't imagine it not working on my Chevy truck. Maybe it is the pinbox clearance that I need to work on. Did you have to put yours on the highest holes to clear your bed rails?

Superglide Questions

I took my 5th wheel out this weekend and I have a question. My new superglide and hitch will NOT clear my bed rails on sharp turns. I noticed this while I was driving in a parking lot getting used to the new hitch. I have a 2008 Chevy 2500 with a 1 inch leveling kit installed on the rear.
My dealer installed the hitch and I think the hitch could be moved up some...I noticed the bottom holes on the hitch aren't being used. My guess is that I would need about 3 more inches of clearance to make a sharper turn so that the hitch will clear the bed rails. Am I missing something or is moving the hitch plate holes up a set of holes the answer?
Thanks

WHAT DO I NEED?

I'm picking my first 5th wheel (first RV for that matter) this week and I'm wondering what items I should pick up at the dealership. I have round $500 to spend on anything from rv covers to stabilizers?...any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Guys

RE: 2 bedrooms with seperate bath available?

You may want to check out the Montana Mountaineer 345DBQ. The best 4 slide, bunk model around.

All Montana Mountaineer Owners!

I have been researching for a new (first time) fifth wheel. We have narrowed our search to the Mountaineer 345DBQ. It seems to be a great trailer with a huge bunk room, 4 slides, 1 1/2 baths, ect...I have justified the higher price from what we were originally looking at (cougars and wildcats) b/c of all the nice creature comforts of the Mountaineer. Here are a couple of my general questions that I would appreciate any help on.
1. How critical is the the W/D prep. (We don't plan on staying in the trailer for any extended period of time)
2. Is the Alloy wheels/Equiflex suspension option worth it?
3. Will a 16K slider hitch be enough...or have you had better luck with a 18K-20K. I have read some forums that the higher rating hitches pull better. I currently have a 2008 Chevy Duramax 2500 CC to pull with.
4. I also plan on putting a second hitch on the back for my 2 4- wheelers. Does anyone have any advice on that?
Thanks for all your help in advance.
